My absolutely favorite season to shop for - and to look forward to in general - is springtime. After a loooong stretch of winter, nothing perks my spirits like bright colors and floral patterns. It also reminds me of spring break vacations as a kid when I was allowed to buy a new "travel outfit" that basically consisted of pastel leisurewear and a touch of white for the return flight, to show off my tan. My momma taught me well ;)
I picked a ton of favorites that I naturally gravitate toward, and added in a few pieces that are trending for spring - chunky platform heels and mules (hello, 70s!), a drawstring bag and backpack (hello, 90s!).
A few key staples for every spring closet: a classic trench coat to stay chic during the workweek (and the inevitable spring rain), a utility jacket for running errands, and a bomber jacket for a night out.
Even as winter turns to spring, the temperatures are usually still chilly. Don't let that stop you from wearing your spring clothes! Layer spring dresses with a bomber jacket, moto jacket, or a slouchy sweater. Add boots and tights, and you'll be ready to have a springy-yet-warm pep in your step.
And, speaking of a pep in your step... newww shoesss. While pumps are a permanent classic, mules have become one of the most popular styles this year. Think of the clogs you wore in the 90s, but way more chic. Drawstring duffel bags and backpacks are also popular accessories this year, and I love creamy neutral hues that will pair with any style.
Who's ready for spring, and the refresh in your wardrobe? I've clearly started shopping, albeit only mentally (so far). Is anyone braving the trends I'm not ready for yet, like extreme bell bottoms and wide leg jeans?
Happy spring shopping! :)
